I am composer working with music, research and creative uses of sound. I studied in England for masters and doctoral degrees in electroacoustic composition and since 1999 have followed a predominantly freelance career, where Norway has become my adopted home.
In my composition I work with instruments and live electronics, acousmatic music and sound installations, and have collaborated on theatre, film, contemporary dance projects and science outreach.
In my research, which has inevitably infiltrated my compositional output, I focus on 3-D sound through the application of ambisonics and wavefield synthesis, sonification, and both the aesthetical and scientific investigation surrounding our perception of sound and music.
